Prenup Shoot Inspiration Board

Our friend,
Daniel Tan, had offered to do our prenup shoot -- so it got us thinking of what we want it to look like... I wanted the prenup to be in theme with the wedding. Problem is, I have so many scattered ideas, so if you asked me what our wedding theme is, all I'd be able to tell you is: elegant and purple. Well that... and... I want our wedding to depict Eyebrows and I as a couple, so I was thinking of having subtle hints of travel plugged in, maybe in the table numbers, the give aways, that kinda thing...

Anyway, I wanted to give Daniel an idea of that vision, or maybe I myself wanted an idea of what that vision actually was. After a whole day of googling images I came up with our prenup inspiration board. I hope in a way, this ties things together...

Location: Airport runway, place with planes (preferably old school ones)
Overall Theme:
modern vintage (if that makes any sense?), elegant
Some theme'd items: Trunk luggage, pipe, hat, gloves, leather jacket, dress, airplane, net
Key Notes: Just be natural...

Capturing Wedding Moments

Photography and Videography

Now that we've got our date and venue (or at least we're 90% sure of it), time to scout for the next thing on demand - our photographer and videographer. Im obviously a media addict (who in the world documents every single wedding step like this???). And so these are 2 components important to me. I want to be able to relive this day of our lives down to the very detail...

Ive looked at tons of options for photographers and narrowed it down to my top 2. Nelwin Uy and MangoRed. Even before I got engaged, I was super bent on MangoRed. They had a coolness factor to their pictures that made it feel so hip and contemporary, so out of the ordinary. But Im glad I looked around. Cuz after much thought, I figured that I would want to look back and see pictures that depicted those special moments (a tear, a laugh, dancing friends... that kinda thing) and not so much hip-modern photography. Any photo can be photoshopped, I could even do that myself! But a missed moment cannot be retaken. So, I am now leaning towards Nelwin Uy. He's pricey but not crazy and his shots are taken so well -- moments captured with great quality and composition!

As for the videography -- my dream has always been Jason Magbanua. I dont think there's anyone better. BUT... his price is over the top for us. My second choice is Mayad Studios. Not all their videos are awesome, but a lot of them are. They're expensive but not crazy. We'll book them after we get to meet them.

Happy 4th Year Anniversary

TIME FLIES... Eyebrows and I have been together for 4 years!!! Looking back I realize that so much has changed. We've grown and matured and moved a few steps closer to our personal goals and dreams -- and we could not have done it without each other.

Our relationship is one that allows each other to seek and reach our dreams, but also sets reasonable boundaries to protect each other from falls. Its been a challenge finding middle ground, but through time we've grown in love and trust and I believe learned to find the balance that suits us both.

Our love is strong and stable, simple and natural. I have never felt more fulfilled and secure. Eyebrows really is my partner, and I am a better person because of him.

Cebu Ocular - Hilton and Plantation Bay

HILTON and PLANTATION BAY

Maybe for a vacation... Not our weddingAugust 8, 2009

We checked out a few other venues for a Mactan wedding, the Hilton and Plantation Bay. The Hilton had a pretty garden and beach front that makes for a great beach party. Its got a Plan B (the ballroom), which looks a bit old and run down. Plus the whole building looks like a pink flamingo!!! No thanks...

Hilton: The beach and garden front

Hilton: The ballroom, I guess circles are said to be lucky? LOL

Hilton: Reception Area. Maybe if my theme was pink?

Plantation Bay is -- well, cool!! Gives you this feeling of being in a surreal environment. Eyebrows loves it, I think it plays with his graphic novel imagination. We'd go back for a trippy trip, but not for an elegant wedding.

Plantation Bay: The plan B, but a little too small for 300 guests, dont you think?
